Change Management Consultant/Instructional Designer with Strategic Staffing Solutions, assigned to Ameren, I played a pivotal role in advancing their Maximo deployment. In this capacity, I significantly impacted Ameren, a major utility serving 2.4 million electric and over 900,000 natural gas customers across a vast 64,000-square-mile area with a workforce exceeding 9,000. My focus was on streamlining complex operational processes, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness in the field, and directly contributing to Ameren’s commitment to quality service and customer satisfaction.
My primary accomplishment was the transformation of extensive, hundred-page quick reference guides into streamlined, 2–4-page job aids, tailored to enhance the operational efficiency of Ameren’s workforce. By applying the ADDIE approach, I conducted thorough needs assessments across the organization through various methods including focus groups, interviews, and observational studies in training environments. This comprehensive strategy led to the development of a placemat quick reference guide, specifically designed for supervisors managing field engineer teams. This guide proved it instrumental in improving the management and performance of field operations in Missouri and Illinois. My contribution was particularly notable as this guide became the only document approved for use across all training facilities in both states, meeting strict security requirements. This achievement not only streamlined Ameren’s operational processes but also significantly supported the successful implementation of Maximo, directly impacting the company’s ability to serve its large customer base more effectively.
